LabourLGB will be publishing our own response to the bill.  In the meantime, here is the very thoughtful response from Gay Men's Network.  Many gay men and lesbians are deeply worried that this unnecessary bill will severely impair support for gender non-conforming same sex attracted young people.  We fear it will lead to the erasure of butch lesbians and feminine gay men by encouraging their transition to caricatures of heterosexuals, through surgery and lifelong medicalisation. This unworkable draft bill simply must be stopped.

This Memorandum, signed by LabourLGB and many other UK bodies, represents our shared commitment to protecting the healthy process of puberty and adolescence, prioritising young people’s developmental integrity and future wellbeing.

The report explores the experiences and perspectives of LGB employees whose voices have been underrepresented in mainstream EDI discussions to better understand these perspectives and help senior leaders understand a wider range of perspectives and needs and develop EDI approaches that are legally compliant, inclusive, and responsive to workplace realities.

This US report is widely considered to surpass the Cass Report into paediatriac gender dysphoria and its treatment.
