LabourLGB is grateful to many MPs and peers for their support on issues of importance to the UK’s LGB community. The big issue we face right now is the government-sponsored trial into puberty blockers for pre-pubescent children, the great majority of whom would likely grow up to be gay or lesbian. We will profile in other pieces the fabulous support our community has received from the indomitable Tracey Gilbert and Tonia Antoniazzi and others. But let’s now talk about Jonathan …
Backbench Labour MPs should take note of Jonathan Hinder. Unlike so many of you, not for him following the crowd. Not for him drinking the ‘kool-aid’. Jonathan is a free thinker with his head screwed on. The sort of person you’d really like to have as your MP.
We have looked on over the past few years with incredulous disappointment at the procession of Labour MPs and local Labour activists happy to sacrifice women’s rights, children’s rights and gay and lesbian rights on the altar of trans rights. This tiny minority section of society has undoubtedly captured the ‘progressive’ zeitgeist, regardless of how damaging the purist pursuit of the trans agenda may be to the rights of others. Only a few years ago, the only trans people in society were older trans identifying males, quietly and respectfully going about their lives. However, since 2010 there has been an explosion of gender non-conforming young people, especially teenage girls, claiming to have been born in the wrong body. Our Labour government, having previously implemented a permanent ban on puberty blockers, is now initiating a trial into their use. Yet it is already known that skipping puberty then proceeding directly to cross-sex hormones, as almost all of the children inevitably will, has permanent and serious medical, fertility and sexual consequences which no child can possibly understand nor to which they can give their consent. The power of teenage trends, the inarguable advent of social media and its pernicious algorithms and rabbit holes, the greedy pressure from big pharma, dreaming of the profits which lie ahead – whatever the complex web of causes, the sheeplike affirmation from progressives of all parties is unforgivable. It’s time Labour MPs grew up and smelled the coffee – and followed the lead of their colleague Jonathan Hinder.
LabourLGB calls on back-benchers to find their back-bones.
Stand up and be counted in support of children’s rights, women’s rights and gay and lesbian rights.
Just let these children grow up lesbian or gay.
Watch Jonathan Hinder MP and learn …
